Happy father’s day! This morning my family let me sleep in… until 8am.
I feel like the luckiest father in the world! I also got lots of drawings and cards and tickets to a Giants game later in the summer. Awesome start to an awesome day!

Sometimes it seems like I need the nap more than my kids do. It’s a little break in the day to just sit and relax, sometimes even in the car on the way to an afternoon activity.

I have an iPhone but don’t really use it to entertain my kids during dinner. No judgement here. I totally understand that sometimes it’s the only thing that will keep that kid in place for the extra minutes you need to finish your meal, talk to your friends, have a conversation that doesn’t involve diapers or sleep or pre-school. In our family, we engage with our kids as long as we can with conversation and whatever toys we have on us then we book it out before a disaster happens. What do *you* think? What are the benefits and drawbacks of using that smartphone during dinner?

Having kids is always this balance between wanting them to grow up faster and wanting them to slow down so they don’t grow up too fast. I’m trying my best to live each moment as it comes.
But, please, can we just finish walking down this block?
